Nine and a Half Months

Dear Precious Lyle,

You're 9 and a half months now.

• You already have 3 pearly white teeth!
• You have already walked 3 steps and fell...but you did that only once for now.
• You don't like to eat much these days.. I think it's because you're having cough.
• You just love to crawl and can even climb the stairs!
• You just love to call me... "amma..." you say " amma" for everything..when you want to be carried, when you're hungry, when you're sleepy and tired... I like that so much!
• You say "Abba" forAppa.
• You had your first hair cut in Taiping and it was Venu mama who shaved your head.

8 th months!

Dear Li'l one!

You're officially 8 months old now..actually yesterday marked your8th month. I still have to take a picture of you tomorrow.

You continually surprise us with your new stunts everytime you complete your month you know. So, today you showed off AMma and Appa that you could stand without support for awhile! We didn't expect you to do that. Appa and amma were just lying on the bed and playing with you. You were just crawling at first..but then you tried to stand up using Appas body for support..while we were just chit chatting, you just suddenly let go of your hand! I didn't notice that at first and it was your Appa who exclaimed , "Looook, what he's doing!..He's standing on his own!".... And I saw you did! Then you fell down...hahaha! That was just a few seconds but you're sure on your way to so-called 'independence'.

Here are the other things you do:

• You like to say, "ka..ka..ka"...I think you like to call your ate Tricia Akka and not Ate.
• You like to eat cereals.
• You like to go outside for our afternoon walks..and everytime we come back home you cry and point your hand out.
• You can sit steadily and enjoy playing with your toys in the crib.
• You love to watch the puppet in "Baby Einstein" and everytime you see it. You just giggle..so cute!

Walking....in the 'walker'

To my Li'l One,

Since you're already standing up in your crib and trying to cruise around it, we decided to let you try the 'walker' too. And you love it! You still don't know how to go forward with it but your walker will indeed take you to different places and at a different perspective. But when Amma put you in the walker, I have to be more watchful of you. Do you know why? BEcause while inside, you would twist your whole body to see or rather try to 'eat' the elephant design at the back. Once you did this, and you almost fell down.





Another thing that Amma notices now is that you're very clingy....to your Appa. You would always want your Appa's attention. When your Appa doesn't carry you, you would have this certain cry that somehow communicates your 'want'. Hmmm..

You had your jab again 2 days ago and this time you cried. You didn't cry of the pain but because you were so sleepy and the nurse asked you to be laid down on the bed and you just refused to lie down. So, when we forcefully let you lie down, you cried out of frustration.

You already seem to know what you want, boy and sometimes or rather always insist your way. This time, you don't like it when Amma changes your nappies of dress you up. So, when it's time to change, you just wiggle and move soo much that it's quite a struggle for amma to change your nappy of pants. Most of the time, when Appa is around, I would ask Appa to hold you still while I do the changing. It's much easier that way. :)

You're just such a strong boy. That's what everyone says. And by the way, more and more people now says that you look like me..yipee!! hehehe!!

What's your favorite food?

T my Li'l One,

You love to eat. We just get amuse everytime you see us eat. Your eyes will just be locked on the food from our plate to our mouth and you'd be drooling.

Since you love food, we've already allowed you taste/ eat a variety of food. But there is this food that you don;t like much. Yes, you still eat it but then , it shows clearly on your face that you don;t like it much. Do you know what food? Surprinsly, it's mashed potatoes. Here is the proof.

You're FAST!!

TO my Li'l One,



Remember Amma has always been telling you, 'please don't grow up too fast'? But it seems you are indeed in a hurry to grow up.

Just this afternoon, I was showing you through the webcam to Granny and telling her that you could already crawl well and go around the room. She was amused and said, that you really move a lot.

You were already trying to sit on your own too. Actually, you can already do that without difficulty but there's one thing that I didn't expect you to do at this time because you're barely 6 months, (2 days from now will be your 6th month) and that is STANDING on your own.

Here is the story:

You were just inside you crib while your ate Tricia, AMma and Ninang Litlit were eating at the dining table. We saw you held on your crib so tightly and kneeled down. We got surprised that you could already kneel down and I rushed to get the camera to take your picture. Then when I came back with the camera, you were already trying so hard to stand up! HAHHAHAHA! and with such determination and strength, you did manage to stand up on your own for a looongg time! WOW!! You're such a strong baby!

Hmmm...so proud ha? Standing like a pro.

Now, Amma is already a bit worried. Since you already know how to stand up then the next thing you'll do will be walking and then running, then skipping, jumping, climbing and etc..whew!! I'll be chasing you around pretty soon. You'll indeed give Amma a good workout. HEhehe!! but seriously, I thank God for giving you strength and making you so healthy that at this age you could already do all these things..I wonder what other stunts are coming up?

Dear Li'l One,

I guess in a months time I would have to stop calling you Li'l One or Baby Lyle coz you're growing so fast! You'll be 6 months old next week and boy you're already crawling and trying to sit up now. You jus love to be left alone on your mat and you try to crawl and reach out to all the attractive things you can see. :

Last week we went for a conference and you were such a good boy. You were not fussy when Amma and Appa attended the meetings. You even let all the Aunties, Uncles, Kuyas and Ate's carry, cuddle, pinch and played with you. It's either you're just so friendly or you still don't have that separation anxiety. But on our way back home in the bus, you were crying so hard. I guess you just had enough of everything and was so tired and over stimulated.

The Laughing Lyle

Dear Li'l one,

Here is the proof that you just adore you Ate Tricia and laugh at all her 'jokes'. She's the only one who can make you laugh like this. WHen Amma, Appa or anyone make faces, or make funny noises, all we get is a sweet smile from you but not a loud laugh.

This is just a very short video since there wasnt' enough time left in the memory card. I'll try to make a longer one next time.

Almost 5 months!!

Lyle's very first meal at 4 months (and 1 week) old

Dear Li'l one,

You are just soo precious!!

You're going to be five months in a few days time! Wow! TIme just went by so fast and this time you're just so busy growing up!

1) You're already trying to crawl. I think you can master crawling in a few days time because you can already carry yourself up (push-ups) but you burrow your head to move forward.

2) As usual you laugh so hard when you're Ate Tricia plays with you and does her 'jokes'.

3) You've been eating regularly now. and you just love it!

4) Just this morning you said your first 2 syllable 'word'....a---boooo!...it was so clear!. You're trying to talk now with your "a....booo" and other words that Amma can't understand.

5) And you know what, you're already so clever these days! Eversince you were born, Amma and Amma let you sleep in the crib as it's safer. But then a week ago, you'd be crying at the middle of the night for no reason at all. So, Amma tried to to everything and tried to let you sleep on our bed , and immediately you dozed off!! You did that so many times until Amma and Appa decided to let you sleep with us for awhile. Maybe you just want to sleep beside us..So clever lah!

6) You also enjoy when Amma reads books to you. You just keep quiet and listen carefully. Your attention span is quite long.

7) You also love it when Amma sings, Twinkle, twinkle little star to you. You'd be smiling and giggling especially when I let you do the action.

8) You're getting chubbier everyday.

9) Dressing you up and bathing you has already become a wrestling match as you are so active these days!

10) And this is made worse because you already reach out for everything you see attractive.

That's all for now..and I just want you to know that you are just so precious to us!! We love you so much. Your Ate Tricia loves you so much too...though there were times that she was being rough with you ( in bisaya, tungod sa iyang pang gigil intawon na Dong! hahaha) but she just adores you!

Teething

Dear Li'l One,

You're 4 months and 3 days old now! We just came fro the Hospital this morning and you had your vaccine. And guess what, you didn't cry at all!! I was talking to you while the nurse stick the needle in your leg and you just said a short " uh" and finished! The nurse was also surprised with your reaction and said that you're a brave boy! And I think you really are!..Appa said that maybe you're so used to being bitten by the mosquitos that's why the needle is not that painful to you anymore. hehehe! Hmm...

Anyways, here are the things you can do and been doing for the pastmonth.

• You're already a pro in rolling over.
• You're almost ready to crawl..and you know what, 2 weeks ago you fell from the bed! You 'crawled' from headboard down and then...uhaaaaaaa!!! We were at the Englsih Center at that time, so that explains why you were not in the crib and Amma was also fast asleep...shhh... But you're okay, we didn't rush you to the hospital anymore like what we did when your Ate tricia fell ( at 5 months).
• You're droooling now..so much of saliva falling ..hahaha!
• I think you're teething (that must explain the drooling) . You love to put all your fingers inside you mouth or anything you can grab. Your even 'eat' the ballisters in your crib.
• You already know how to do a 'dramatic cry'. You have this cry when you want Amma's attention.
• You just adore your Ate Tricia. You follow your ate Tricia's actions closely and just keeps observing her and staring at her.
• You also laugh at your Ate Tricia's antics.
• You can already do mini push ups..You do this especially when Amma,Appa and ate Tricia are eating and talking at the Dining area and you want to see what's happening. So chika uy!

I think so far, that's all I can remember. And one more thing, your Doctor said that you're ready for solids! And so tomorrow Appa and Amma will feed you your first meal..and of course the camera is already READY.

Malaysia Trip

Dear Li'l One,

You had your 1st trip 'abroad' over the weekend. We took the train going to your Ammachi's ( Grandmother) place and as usual you were just so cool! The train was quite noisy and shaky but you didn't seem to bother. So, Amma was able to rest during the trip and also slept off while you were sleeping.

One of the main 'agenda' for the trip was to get your passport. We had your first passport picture taken and you look so cute! The photographer from the shop was amused that you were sitting so steadily ( like a 6 mo. old) while Appa just held your back during the photo session.

Do you know that you were also a bit spoiled over the weekend? Your AMmachi's and Attai's were always carrying you around with ' pasway-sway' pa So, whenever they sit down and be still then you would cry. You never do that to AMma since you know that AMma doesn't want to stand and carry you around. It'll be too tiring for Amma too you know, since you're so chubby and heavy now.

1st tuktuk experience

Dear Li'l One,

Last Saturday, you had your first tuktuk ride! Someone borrowed the car and Appa went for a meeting while Amma and Ninang Litlit has to go for another meeting. So, we rode the tuktuk together with ate Tricia too. It was so early in the morning, this is why your ate tricia is still yawning while you had your usual serious look.

You enjoyed our ride and I though you'll be catching your breath because of the strong wind (just like what you do when you're in front of the fan) but you were just cool! You were just looking around while your Ate Tricia was so excited. She just loves to ride the tuktuk and even asked us on the way home if we'll be riding the tuktuk again. hehehe! But appa fetched us on the way home.

The Mystery Revealed

Dear Li'l One,

Do you know that you usually sleep in your tummy? This way you sleep longer and won't get startled easily. Well, two nights ago...oh actually that was in the wee hour of the morning, I was surprised to see you sleeping on your back! So, I assumed that your Appa let you sleep on your back for a change. So the next morning, I asked your Appa if he turned you the night before but he said, No..and asked why? But your Appa was smiling when I told him why so, I thought that your Appa was playing tricks on me.

That same day, I tried to put you on your tummy when you were awake to see if it was really you who rolled over or it was your Appa. After so much of struggling from your side, I thought that maybe then it was your Appa who made you roll over.

THen the following night , the same thing happened. When I woke up, I found you on your back again. I didn't bother to ask your Appa anymore and thought that maybe if it was really you who turned then I will see it in my own eyes next time.

Finally, last night when you woke up and made those sounds that 'says' your uncomfortable, I woke up and was on my way to see what's wrong...and then I saw in my very own eyes..you rolled over!!! hahahah!! So, it was indeed you! LOL! funny me..suspecting Appa to play tricks on me when you already know how to roll over yourself...I never thought that you could roll over this early since your a bit fatty!..thought you couldn't carry yourself..hehehe! Your Ate Tricia rolled over when she was 3 and half months old. Anyways, when I checked why you were uncomfortable..I saw that your diaper leaked and your shirt was so wet already...so, I guess that's why you rolled over...so that you won't feel the wet shirt too much..hahaha! well, that's just my theory..hahah!

ANyways, congratulations my boy for you've reached another milestone in your baby life...:)

Talkative Lyle

Dear Li'l one,

This is you at 2 months and 3 weeks old. I think you'll be another chatterbox like your Ate. You just like to "talk" a lot these days.



You have to see your Ate too. She just loves to talk and tell stories. I'm sure you'll love her funny and interesting stories when you grow up.

Strong Baby

To my L'il One,

You're quite a STRONG boy! You're only 2 months and 3 weeks old now but you could really hold your head for a long time.

THen, just yesterday I figured out it's not safe for your to be left alone in your baby carrier anymore. I usually put you there when you're awake and when you're bored inside your crib. So, yesterday I put you there while I was giving medicine to Ate Tricia. I was not able to watch you for awhile since I was busy with your Ate. And the next thing I saw is that half of your body is in the carrier and half was on the floor!! You moved so much that you almost fell off. Amma panicked and took you out from the carrier in a flash! whew!! That was close! I was worried that you'd hit your head on the floor, but thank God you didn't. Wow, and I thought you're not an active boy like your Ate. Your Ate Tricia did that "stunt" when she was already 4 months old. And that time, the carrier was on the bed so it's not that dangerous.

After that incident, Amma was just relieved and your Ate Tricia said, " I think Lyle boy wants to come to us, Amma". :)

Then, later in the afternoon, Appa made you sit up like a big boy. Wow! You can really sit up now...but only for several seconds..heheheh! ...and then you'd fall on the side. DOn't worry..don't be such in a hurry to do that. Please take your time..Amma , wants to rest for quite a long time..so, please don't be in a hurry to sit up, crawl, walk and run..hahahah!
